  • Laterim Launches a New Look Website, Just in Time for Santa!
"Although not fully functional as we would have liked it to be by Christmas, the site will be of great benefit in the coming years."
Our strategy for 2005 will be to utilise our website as a vehicle for product and brand awareness, as well as for utilising one of our newest products "Chameleon", for our customer care and production processes.
We want our customers to see us using our technology to assist them.

Microsoft's Newest .NET Technologies Underpin Laterim's Newest Order System
"Order Manager", one of Laterim's latest product offerings, is an application that promotes the use of several of the new Microsoft .NET Technology range, including Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Windows XP, Microsoft .NET, Webservices under iis6 and XML.
In a technical overview, Steve Cumming explains how the application works. "The installable VB.NET application resides on a users PC in a factory or workshop; a web-service that is located on an ISP's [Internet Service Provider] remote server ensures that the latest factory pricing and business logic is correct inside the application. This is necessary to ensure that the components required to product the end-product are ordered correctly and are compatible with each other.
This scenario could be typical of say, a manufacturing plant who produces custom timber moldings for a furniture company; the furniture company being the end user in this case. Once the end-user selects the molding products, an elaborate break-down of components and pricing are compiled into an XML and Excel Order, allowing for the re-integration with other accounting/billing software at the end-users site. At the same time the order is dispatched via the internet for processing and delivery from the manufacturing factory. The factory can have confidence that the order is correct, as they have sent the data to the end-users computer, with the necessary business logic.

Laterim expects to launch Order Manager in February of 2005, all enquiries may be directed to steve@laterim.com.au.
